Loose Fragments
You feel something moving inside your knee – but what’s really happening? In this video, Yorkshire Knee Clinic’s Dave Duffy demonstrates how knee surgeons deal with loose and mobile bodies inside the knee.
How Do Knee Surgeons Remove Loose Fragments In The Knee?
Yorkshire Knee Clinic’s knee surgeons often hear patients say they feel something moving inside their knee. But what’s really causing the problem?
In this short (1m30s) video, Dave Duffy takes a camera into the knee joint to explore the mobile and loose bodies that can cause pain, locking or a feeling that the knee will give way.
Notes for the squeamish: This video features footage from operations.
• There is no blood – you will see the off-white surfaces of the femur, tibia and ACL, a fragment of cartilage and a mobile body.
• The video also includes the cutting of the mobile lesion and the removal of loose fragments. Again, this is all blood-free.
